St. Patrick's Day Characters: The Old Guy

Bars on St. Patty's Day are generally filled with young, green-clad alcohol enthusiasts. But there are also those older bar regulars who, holidays be damned, refuse to give up their regular seat. These are the guys who, by the looks of them, treat the bar like it's little more than a waiting room for the afterlife.
Some of these old dudes love to chat it up! All they want is to tell someone a ridiculous -- and most likely factually void -- story, and then try and get that someone to buy them a beer, a shot or both. And these stories tend to run on and on. If you linger too long, you'll not only ruin your buzz, but before long you'll also gonna wanna go blow your brains out.
This guy is easy to avoid, really. Why? Because he never f*cking moves! He's kind of like one of those human statues all painted silver. He just posts up on a barstool and waits for his audience to come to him. Simply order your drink at another slab of bar real estate and you'll be good as gold.
