STORY: Veteran rockers Queen are set to continue their reign with American Idol alumni Adam Lambert.

The band held a press conference at New York's Madison Square Garden to announce their upcoming summer arena tour on Thursday (March 6).

"Each time we've worked with Adam it's just worked very well with our music. He's the most incredible front man and we're delighted to be announcing a tour of North America. It's just such a delight for us," said co-founding member Roger Taylor.

Lambert, who said he has been a fan since he was a child, called being a part of the tour an honor.

May and Taylor first learned about Lambert after his first appearance on the television singing competition American Idol in 2009 but said they weren't looking for a new front man.
