Neighbor feared Pistorius would take his life after girlfriend's death

Day four of the Oscar Pistorius murder trial revealed testimony from one of the first people on the scene.

Neighbor Johan Stipp told the court Pistorius was begging him to save his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) WITNESS, JOHAN STIPP, SAYING: (audio over court listening)

"Oscar was crying all the time. He prayed to God to please let her live, she must not die."

The South African Paralympic and Olympic star said he mistakenly shot Steenkamp, thinking she was an intruder.

Stipp told the court that as they waited for the ambulance, he feared Pistorius would take his own life.

"I remember at one stage while I was outside, and I noticed that Oscar was going up the stairs. It was obvious that Oscar was emotionally very, very upset, and I didn't know the situation in the house, so I thought maybe he was going to hurt himself."
