With Kalashnikovs and sniper rifles, Ukrainian special forces fire on Kiev's Independence Square.

New video has emerged, showing the unit last Thursday during the bloodiest day of clashes.

As the gunshots crackle and echo through the city, the security forces maneuver into position.

Last week's clashes left 82 people killed.

It was that very bloodshed that led to the arrest warrant for impeached president Viktor Yanukovich.

The governor of the Russian-speaking city Donetsk said the embattled president must face responsibility.

"We need to face the truth. A lot of mistakes, including tragic mistakes, have been made. And the most horrible thing is they led to people's deaths. For this the president will undoubtedly be taken to account."

Back in Kiev, mourning continues.

Thousands have passed through Independence Square - also known as Maidan - to honor the dead.
