The streets of Caracas fill with both supporters and opponents of the Venezuelan government.

At least eight people have been killed in ten days of unrest.

As demonstrators show support for President Nicolas Madura, he is facing the worst turmoil since narrowly winning election last April. He tells the crowd two supporters have been arrested for firing weapons.

4. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO SAYING:

"They have been arrested. They are in the hands of the authorities and that's how it should be. Nobody is allowed to shoot at anyone else."

The opposition is not going quietly.

Venezuelan opposition leader Henrqiue Capriles rallies the crowd.

He pledges to do what he can to help free jailed opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez.
