Christopher O'Neill, the husband of Sweden's Princess Madeleine, announced the birth of their daughter in New York on Friday (February 21).

O'Neill spoke during a news conference at New York-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, where the child was delivered. "We are just so thankful that at 10:41 last night (February 20), we brought a little girl into this world," he said. "And she looks like her mum, which is all I wanted. And we have 10 fingers, 10 toes and she's got a very strong, nice roar on her."

"She weighs 3,150 grams. She measured 50 centimeters. And she is beautiful and healthy," confirmed Dr. Sona Degann, who delivered the child.

O'Neill did not reveal the child's name, but said she appeared to have brown eyes and brown hair.

The new father also showed the media his daughter's footprint, in faded ink, on his forearm.
