Prosecutors release video of the moment an armed robber is tackled to the ground by passengers on a Seattle city bus.

Newly released CCTV video shows the moment an armed robber was ambushed by fellow passengers on a bus in Seattle, US on November 25.

The footage shows a man wearing a stocking mask, identified by police as 19-year-old Trevonnte Brown, pulling a handgun on passengers and taking their mobile phones. He then approaches a seated passenger towards the front of the bus who lunges at the robber and tackles him to the floor while other passengers hurry to pin him down, at one point using what appears to be an earphone cable to restrain the perpetrator until police arrived.

Some passengers alighted from the Rapid Ride bus in tears and shock, but nobody was hurt.

Brown, a recent graduate of Franklin High School with no criminal history, was arrested and is being held on $350,000 (£214,000) bail. He has been charged with three counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery.

He has pleaded not guilty to all counts. A hearing is scheduled for December 30.
