Journalist arrested for assaulting girlfriend in Japan

A 27-year-old journalist was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The accused man, Hayato Mori, worked in Sankei Shimbun Kobe Branch. Mori is said to have been dating the victim since 2013. The relationship turned violent last fall after Mori started beating her. The couple apparently had a fight over the bill at a restaurant. Mori is accused of kneeing his girlfriend in her face and kicking her in the back. The girlfriend reported Mori to the cops after he left a bruise under her right eye. Mori admitted to having an argument, but denied hitting her.
