For some people on the streets of Kiev on Monday news that Ukraine’s embattled president will return to work after four day’s sick leave offered hope that a solution to the country’s deadlocked political crisis could be found but protesters insisted no satisfactory deal could be reached with Victor Yanukovich filling Kiev’s main square on Sunday and demanding Yanukovich give up power.
