Russian opposition protesters detained over illegal rally

Russian police have arrested more than two dozen people during an unauthorised protest in Moscow.
The demonstration held at the end of every month with 31 days is meant to highlight the 31st article of the Russian Constitution which guarantees the right of free assembly.
Among those detained was opposition leader, Eduard Limonov.
Chanting “Russia will be free” and holding pictures of people protesters call political prisoners,demonstrators were led away – sometimes dragged and carried – by police officers and placed in waiting buses.
Freedom of assembly is guaranteed in the constitution, but activists say the government restricts that right by requiring rally organisers to get official permits, which are frequently denied.
