NETAJI, Do You Know Meaning of Converting UP to Gujarat : Modi at Gorakhpur Rally

At a huge public rally in Manbela, Gorakhour, Uttar Pradesh, BHaratiya Janata Party's Prime Ministerial Pick Narendra Modi attacked UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying that the father-son duo had been following him across the state. Citing that Mulayam and Akhilesh had said that Modi could never convert Uttar Pradesh into a Gujarat, the firebrand leader said that the father-son duo did not know what being Gujarat meant.

"Netaji, do you know the meaning of coverting to Gujarat? It means 24-hour electricity in every village and street. You can't do it. It requires 56-inch chest," Modi said, apparently suggesting that it requires decisiveness.

Accusing the Samajwadi Party of ruining Uttar Pradesh, Modi said that there was immense potential in the state but there was no political will to develop it and better its condition. He also said that all three parties -- Congress, SP and BSP -- merely engaged in vote-bank politics.
