There are other "ways" for Iran to join Syria talks: Kerry

Nevermind the fact that the U.N. invited, then uninvited Iran to Syria peace talks taking place in Switzerland...

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says there are other ways for the Iranians to join the talks. He says Tehran could help the process of ending a nearly three year long civil war, responsible for killing more than 100,000 people.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE, JOHN KERRY, SAYING:

"We have a critical mass building and yes, Iran certainly does have an ability to be able to help make a difference. We hope that they would decide to be constructive and make a decision to operate in a way going forward that can allow them to do so. There are plenty of ways that that door can be open in the next weeks and months and my hope is that they will want to join in a constructive solution."

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is also in Switzerland, but at a different conference. He's attending the the World Economic Forum in Davos.
