STORY: Accentuated hips made the women's silhouettes even more feminine at Lebanese designer Elie Saab's couture collection unveiled in Paris on Wednesday (January 22).
The show took place in a packed room in the Theatre de Chaillot, standing right in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Entitled 'Promise of Spring,' the Spring/Summer 2014 collection made of 48 looks featured no trousers but only dresses, most of them long. The colors were inspired by blooming flowers, such as hydrangea blue or poppy red.
Light fabrics such as tulle and organza floated around the models and crystals delicately embroidered reflected light on the long trains.
Saab said this time he focused his work on finding new volumes to flatter the woman's silhouette, emphasizing hips to make waists appear even thinner. The audience burst into applause for a flower printed bustier dress with panniers highlighting the hips.
