Using Bluetooth the Bitlock can sense your phones proximity and verify that you’re the one pressing the lock. Instead of a key hole the BitLock simply uses a button to lock and unlock it. BitLock disables itself once you’re 3 feet away, locking your bike. The app for BitLock runs for iPhone 4s and higher, and a number of phones that run android. When you lock or unlock your bike the app will take note of your location. This is so you can always remember where you bike is, and even check the route you walked away from it. Other cool functions of this app is a health monitoring system that tracks how many miles you’ve traveled, calories you burn and the amount of CO2 emissions you saved. You can even set up groups with your friends and neighbors to share the location of your bike and let them access it.
