A court sentences the American-born woman known as "Jihad Jane" to 10 years in prison.

Colleen R. LaRose pleaded guilty in 2009 for a failed al Qaeda-linked plot to kill a Swedish artist who had depicted the head of the Muslim Prophet Mohammad on a dog.

LaRose traveled then to Europe in a plot to shoot the artist in the chest.

She gave up the plot after six weeks and returned to Philadelphia where she was arrested.

LaRose could have received a life sentence.

Prosecutors say she has given authorities significant help in other terrorism cases since her arrest.
