The hunger for archery grows

The "Hunger Games" is sparking popularity in archery.

The U.S. Olympic Training Center has seen an influx of archery participants, thanks to the box office success of the film franchise.

Students of all ages are learning to aim and hit their marks at the center just south of San Diego, California.

National teams manager Audrey Tyrrell says female enrollment has jumped 130 percent.

"Girls are seeing these strong, female characters taking a bow and taking charge and they want to come out and do the same thing. It's been awesome for our sport and it's great for the girls who are coming out and learning and participating."

In the film, Lawrence plays a heroine who uses a bow and arrow to survive in the ultimate reality show of life and death.

Lawrence had formal training from an Olympic archer and at one point in preparation for filming, was shooting up to 100 arrows
