At least 8 dead, 32 injured after police helicopter crashes into Glasgow pub

This was the scene in Glasgow Friday night after a police helicopter crashed into a busy pub -- killing at least 8 people and leaving dozens more injured.

Witnesses said the helicopter just dropped like a stone from the night sky.

Some 100 people were listening to live music inside when the crash occurred.

Jim Murphy, a minister of Parliament, happened to be near the scene.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MINISTER OF PARLIAMENT, JIM MURPHY, WHO WAS AT SCENE OF HELICOPTER CRASH, SAYING:

"There was just people pouring out of the pub and dust seemed to be coming up from nowhere, out of the roof, out of the door, in front of... from the ground almost - the dust. But there was no panic and it was very quiet."

Bystanders were among the first to start rescue efforts to get the injured out.
