Country remembers JFK on 50th anniversary of his assassination

Dallas' Dealey Plaza fell silent on Friday marking the moment 50 years ago to the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated there.

Five thousand guests were invited to attend the commemorative events that included the tolling of bells, a brief moment of silence and the singing of "America the Beautiful" by the U.S. Naval Academy Men's Glee Club.

A new JFK monument was also unveiled at the cite of the ceremony honoring the 35th President who was killed November 22, 1963.
