It was the launch of Kannada star Sudeep and his wife Priya's event management company Stage 360°, and the duo and team — that includes RK Rahul, Raghavendra and Gagan Tallam — left no stone unturned to give a glimpse of the glitz and glamour one can expect from them in the coming years.
The evening, anchored by Charu Sharma, kick-started with an elaborate fashion show put together by Ramesh Dembla. The icing of this fashion do was the marathon showstopper walk featuring a host of Kannada actors from Tarun Chandra, Chiranjeevi Sarja, Pradeep, J Karthik, Dhruva Sharma, Vijay Raghavendra, Adityaa, and finally superstar Darshan.
Quick wit and good humour from everyone who made it to the stage had the elite audience in splits right through. For instance, when Kannada star Ravichandran was invited to launch the logo of the new company, he even went around in circles to signify the 360° turn. Incidentally, the logo reads the same even when it's the other way around.
Guests even got to win prizes from an impromptu lucky draw, depending on the seat number they were on, that ranged from a dinner for two at some of the restaurants at the star hotel where the event was being held, to a chauffeur-driven weekend in a luxury car.
Guests included the likes of Tamil actors Shyam and Varalakshmi Sharathkumar who came in to the city exclusively for this event. Minister R Ashok made a fleeting visit to congratulate the couple before heading off to prepare for Narendra Modi's rally. Quite expectedly, the do saw huge participation from the Kannada film industry with Upendra, Priyanka Upendra, Rockline Venkatesh, K Manju, Raghunath of SRV Productions, Shankar Gowda, Priya Mani, Risheeka, Jai Jagadish, Vijaylakshmi Singh, Gurukiran and Pallavi, Rajesh Ramnathan and Yogesh Dwarkish among the many who hung around at the after-party.
