September 11 1967 - Harry Connick, Jr. is born in New Orleans, LA, the second child of Anita and Harry Connick, Sr.
1973 - At age 5, Harry performs the National Anthem for his father's swearing-in ceremony as the District Attorney for New Orleans.
1974-1985 - Young Harry spends his formative years perfecting his piano skills, learning from the great masters of the New Orleans music scene: personal lessons from James Booker and Ellis Marsalis; classical and contemporary music classes at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts; and performing at the various world-renowned jazz clubs and festivals of New Orleans.
Summer 1985 - Harry moves to New York City and attends Hunter College, later transferring to the Manhattan School of Music.
January 1989 - Harry Connick, Jr. begins a residency at the famed Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, proving himself to be the hottest young rising star on the music scene.
summer 1990 - Harry Connick, Jr. and his Big Band thrill audiences worldwide as he begins a two-year jaunt performing to sell-out crowds around the world.
