Kerry and Clinton promote women's rights in Afghanistan

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she sees a "turning point" for women in Afghanistan today.
Speaking at Georgetown University in Washington on Friday, Clinton told an audience that the gains made by women in Afghan society cannot be stripped away from away.
"This is a serious turning point for all the people of Afghanistan, but in particular for the hard-fought gains women and girls have been able to enjoy," Clinton said. "They will not go back, they will not be forced back into their homes, denied education and health care, stripped away their rights to participate in the economic and political systems of their country."
Clinton was convening a symposium on the progress made by women and girls in Afghanistan made over the past 10 years along with former First Lady Laura Bush and Secretary of State John Kerry.
