With so much attention put on Kanna Hashimoto, her name has become a keyword search in Google and Yahoo. She has been nicknamed "a shining light over the past thousand years", "She is much more adorable than angels", "I've got a huge crush on her." It is rather unprecedented for a local singer to get so much attention abroad. Even internet trolls like her.

Fans say she looks as adorable as super cute animated figures and she looks so fragile that fans want to be her knight in shining armour. Skeptics argue that the rise in her popularity is stemming from undercover marketing. She's even popping up on Chinese sites as well as ones in Hong Kong.
