http://www.mqm.org http://www.allaboutmqm.org MQM’s Rabita Committee has strongly condemned the brutal torture on the cameraman Umair Shah belonging to a private channel by a policeman in the presence of police officers and termed it an assault on the freedom of expression. In a statement the Rabita Committee said that police officers were responsible for the illegal action of policeman because he was tortured in their presence. The Rabita Committee has expressed their heartfelt sympathies with Umair Shah and prayed for his speedy recovery. They have demanded an action from the Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef, Federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Governor Sindh and Chief Minister of Sindh against the policeman and police officers. They said they must be arrested and prosecuted.
