Dreamworld theme park on Australia's Gold Coast was evacuated on Sunday (November 09) due to a grass fire burning near the area.

Strong winds fanned the fire which broke out at about 1.30 pm local time (0230GMT), local media reported.

Queensland Fire and Rescue said that there was no immediate threat to the park but people were evacuated as a precaution.

Animals in the park's zoo have also been moved to a safe location as authorities decide whether to open the park on Sunday (November 10).
