Truth be told, there is no speed record on a trophy truck -- because no one's been stupid enough to try it yet. These are vehicles built for handling jumps, berms, ditches and gaping holes in the road with the grace of a Russian figure skater by dominating them with state-of-the-art suspension and massive, reinforced tires. Ironically, it's the latter that's the most problematic today: the giant tires explode near 130 mph, so the R&D Team have been working with supplier BFGoodrich to prep the rubber so it can withstand the 140 mph barrier.
