Church blames drug gangs for Mexico violence

Drug-related clashes in Mexico's western state of Michoacan left five people dead, and half a million without power, last month.

Now, the local Catholic Church has come out strongly against the drug cartels, which it says are responsible for much of the violence.

It has called on the federal government to step in and stop the bloodshed.
