Bad Superhero Movies: Superman Returns 4

You have to give Bryan Singer credit for having a unique vision, but unfortunately, it wasn't one shared by the vast moviegoing public. While the critics did overall like Singer's take on the Man of Steel, most fans were ticked. Singer tried to add a religious overtone into the already convoluted plot, and as he admitted in a 2011 interview, that was a mistake. He also added in a subplot about Lois Lane being a mother, which threw audiences for a loop for a number of reasons, and didn't help the overall situation. This may have been a Superman movie, but it wasn't the right Superman movie. Guys walked into this thinking they were getting an action film, and what they got instead was a lecture disguised as a popcorn movie. Either way, you still have to love Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.
