Home Styles Island California Headboard Review

ASINB0095G008M This 1 hour project will probably last 2 weeks! Dont buy this headboard and expect it to fit your standard bed frame. The headboard is 65" wide, while the mounting holes in the bed frame are 59" apart. If my wife hadnt discovered "adapter plates", the headboard would have been unuseable. Customer service at Home Style insisted that the bed was designed to fit a standard frame. It doesnt! Not only is the bolt spacing wrong, the 516 threaded inserts in the bed posts that are supposed to receive the bolts that connect frame to headboard are too big! The Sears standard queen frame uses 14" bolts. No bolts came with the $300 headboard. When I asked customer service about this, the reply was the bolts only came with the complete bed. It wasnt until I returned from the hardware store with 516 bolts that it was determined they wouldnt fit thru the slots in the bed frame. The rest of the afternoon, and several Dremel grinding stones were spent filing the slots in the bedframe to accept the 516 bolts. When I called customer service a 2nd time, at 455PM, there was no answer. A 516" by 18 TPI tap was needed to clean up several of the threads. The studs supplied were a loose fit in the rest of the metal inserts. While attractive, the Home Styles Marco Island queenfull headboard is not the quality product its price led us to expect.
