Callum spends a lot of time listening to punk rock records and drinking Jameson (often with one ice cube.) He likes to write songs and plays shows around Edmonton in venues like Wunderbar, The Artery, Cha Island, and pretty much anywhere that will tolerate it. His punk inspired style of writing honest and simple lyrics excellently compliments his rhythmic guitar playing. Some say it's pleasant to listen to.
Despite writing bleak material, Callum is an endearing performer and takes writing and performing music very seriously, without taking himself too seriously.
Callum has been compared to Joe Strummer, Tom Waits, Brian Fallon (of The Gaslight Anthem) and Dave Hause. After a show an audience member once told Callum he was a combination of "Joe Strummer, a pint of Guinness, and a 16 year old girl." Is that something you want to miss?
