BANSHEE BLUES COUNTRY According the mystics, ancient and modern, "The song still remains which names the land over which it sings."
So, the genuine accent of North American music is heard loud and clear in Janet Fitzgerald's fine vocal delivery and her versatile harmonica expertise. Keeping her family's-music making history alive,Jan gravitated to blues early in life, learning harmonica by listening to records of traditional blues harp players, and honing her skills at after-hours Blues jam sessions with the pros at the Mutual Musicians Foundation, 18th and Vine in Kansas City.
Playing and listening to Blues based music now for 40 years, Dublin born Kevin McConville says, "I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it." Truth be told, this naturally talented guitarist's depth, precision, superb feel, and rocking rhythmic expression is a joy to behold. Kevin is equally at home on acoustic, electric, and slide guitars. Kevin's rich voice, passionate delivery, and "just so" phrasing is accentuated by Janet's mighty harmonica. Whether it's that classic "Chicago Blues Harp" sound or the more "Down Home Delta Thing", this duo have got it covered.
Various other musical styles may surface in their sets at their whim. Jazz, Bluegrass, and even the occasional classic country tune, can delightfully surprise the audience. Together these two play a rich compliment of rhythmic soulful songs, played with ease and abandon.
