Spidey fans who have been keeping up with fictional Spider-Man news site, The Daily Bugle, know it's a fun way to stay in the loop between movies, but could a recent post be pointing toward a major villain team-up? It's no secret that the Spider-Man franchise is looking more and more like it's headed to a Sinister 6 storyline. After all, Sony's only major hero is Spider-Man, making a superhero team-up movie ala The Avengers, X-Men or Justice League pretty much out of the question. But a supervillain team-up? Now that's a definite possibility. Lizard was introduced in the first film and we'll be seeing Electro and Rhino for sure and possibly The Goblin as well. Other villain names that have popped up include Venom, Vulture, Doctor Octopus, HydroMan and even SpiderSlayers and now you can add to more possible villains to the list. The most recent news story from The Bugle announces that A trial date has been set for alleged bio-terrorist and former Oscorp scientist, Dr. Curt Connors, who pleaded not guilty to 20 city and state accounts including trespassing, aggravated assault, and using a weapon of mass destruction. The article also identifies Anne Weying as Connors' attorney, a name comic fans recognize as a character who marries Eddie Brock, aka Venom and bonds with the symbiote herself to become She-Venom. The byline of the article also gives us another interesting lead, as the aforementioned news story was written by Ned Leeds, the same name as a comic book character who works with Peter Parker at The Daily Bugle, later turning into bad-guy Hobgoblin. Although we may not see Venom, She-Venom, or Hobgoblin introduced in the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", they could show up in the third or fourth movies planned for 2016 and 2018. Do you think this next movie will be setting us up for a lot more bad guys in the future? Leave a comment below and tell us what you think. I'm Erin Darling, thanks for watching Clevver Movies.
