An intervention is often very helpful in getting an addicted loved one to realize that he or she is in denial. Also, it enables the addict to understand that the addiction is affecting the people around him or her. Interventions are a way for families and friends to show their concerns to an addict loved one in such a way that is not judgmental and in hopes that the addict will agree to receive treatment and help.
