At least seven people died when an explosion on the track derailed several carriages of a passenger train in western Pakistan.

More than a dozen others have been injured in the incident in Balochistan.

Police and railway authorities said the explosion was caused by a remote-controlled bomb on the line.

The Jaffar Express from Quetta to Rawalpindi was caught in the blast.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack on Monday.
