Paris gunman surrenders after bank hostage ordeal

A gunman surrendered to police on Friday after a two-hour hostage ordeal at a bank in Paris.

Four people were held captive by the man, who was demanding social housing for himself and his disabled son.

With the area sealed off near the busy shopping district of Place de l'Italie, he was taken into custody after giving himself up. No-one was injured.
