Tamilnadu is a state lies in southern part of India. Ethnic handloom weaving is one of the traditional arts in Tamilnadu. Mulberry, muga, eri or endi, tussar silk types are exclusively produced and processed in Tamilnadu weaving. Pure cotton, chiffon, jute, georgette and super net fabrics also used in hand weaving and machine jacquard looms to create designer sarees. Tamilnadu hand woven cotton saris available in affordable prices based on zari patterns, printing designs and embroidery work done on them. Chennai, thanjavur and Madurai are places for hand block printing. Tamilnadu is a paradise of silk weaving from fancy printed designs to traditional pattu sarees. Arani handlooms are well known for two different bodies on each side and two different pallus and it can be used as two different sarees. Kanchipuram silk saris are expensive for pure silk, finely woven, real zari used in it. These are named as south Indian pattu sarees, which are quite preferred for south Indian wedding and bridal occasions.
