Located in northeast India, Arunachal Pradesh borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south, and shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east and the People's Republic of China in the north. Itanagar is the capital of the state. China claims most of the state as part of Tibet and calls the disputed area South Tibet.

Arunachal Pradesh also known as the "land of the dawn-lit mountains". Literally it means the "land of the rising sun" (Sanskrit: Arun: Sun, Pradesh: state, province or region) in reference to its position as the easternmost state of India. It is also known as the "Orchid State of India" or the "Paradise of the Botanists". Geographically, it is the largest among the other seven North-eastern states commonly known as the Seven Sister States. As in other parts of Northeast India, the people native to the state trace their origins from the Tibeto-Burman and Mongoloid race. A large number of migrants from various other parts of India and foreign lands have and have been affecting the state's population.

No reliable population count of the migrant population exists, and the percentage estimating the total actual population accordingly vary. Arunachal Pradesh has the highest number of regional languages among Indian states. Enriched with diverse culture and traditions.

Artistes from across the country met likeminded individuals hailing from different parts of the globe. Last year, the festival saw over 150 musicians, artists, and creative minds be a part of this cultural celebration.

Just 167km from the capital, Itanagar, Ziro is one of the oldest towns in Arunachal Pradesh. Situated in a valley, it is at a height of over 5500 feet above sea level, with a beautiful view of the mountains that surround it.

Ziro is primarily home to the Apatanis -- simple, friendly and hospitable people with an interesting culture and legacy. They are a non-nomadic, agrarian tribe who share a responsible relationship with nature. Apatanis cultivate permanent wet land cultivations instead of dry land cultivations which involves burning forests. Ziro valley is lush with paddy farms and is known for its unique paddy cum fi sh cultivation where using traditional irrigation methods, farmers rear fish in the knee-deep water. Keeping them company are the adorable, shy, and harmless Indian Bisons.
