An air of celebration as North Korean Television releases footage of leader Kim Jung-un taking in a concert to mark the anniversary of the country's founding.

The Korean leader along with his wife appeared to enjoy the concert which was called "Long Live the Workers' Party of Korea."

The ruling party's anniversary is one of the most celebrated holidays in North Korea along with the birthdays of the late leaders.

North Korea's first couple also received a standing ovation as they took in a women's volleyball match and a Korean-style wrestling match.

The celebrations comes as the mother of jailed U.S. missionary Kenneth Bae arrived in North Korea and was able to visit her ailing son.

He was detained last November as he led a tour group through the northern region of the country.

His mother says his condition is ok and that she plans to spend a few days in the country.
