A bomb blast kills at least two people in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar Monday.

It happened near a polio vaccination clinic and appeared to target police who were assigned to protect the workers inside.

One of the workers said they had just arrived to pick up supplies when the bomb went off.

Some of the 20 or so others wounded in the blast were receiving treatment at hospital.

Islamist violence has been on the rise in Pakistan- and especially in Peshawar.

More and more frequently, health workers are being targeted by the Taliban after they denounced vaccinations as a Western plot to sterilize Muslims.
