Saint Laurent suited and booted for Paris Fashion Week

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

STORY: Saint Laurent smartened up on Monday (September 30) with suits and ties giving its Spring-Summer 2014 collection a distinctly masculine edge. Models with a macho stride marched down the catwalk with hands stuffed in their pockets wearing checked suits with oversized blazers. Elsewhere the manly look was sexed up with a tuxedo paired with a sheer blouse and high-hemline black leather skirt. The collection drew clear inspiration from the French fashion giant's back catalogue -- founder Yves Saint-Laurent famously feminized the tuxedo and popularized trouser suits in the sixties and seventies. But the collection was peppered with some eye-catching color, including a glittering red zebra-print mini dress with dramatic asymmetric shoulders and a pair of space-age boots.
