Kenyan president says militants "defeated"

"I had vowed earlier, we have ashamed and defeated our attackers"
Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta says that the al Shabaab militants that went on a brutal rampage at a Nairobi mall have been defeated.
But its unclear whether the four-day security operation at the upmarket Westgate center is completely over. There are still questions about whether any militants are still at large or hostages unaccounted for.
Some of the victims are recounting their ordeal including a Kenyan couple who were helping to run a cooking competition.

"And he turned and he said 'you did not spare our women and children, why should we spare yours, and his colleague opened fire. They weren't shooting to scare, they were shooting to kill. They aimed low to where the people were crouching, and they just opened fire, completely and absolutely."
