Ever wish you could get paid for staying in bed all day? Well, Merry Christmas – your time has come.

NASA is paying participants in its 70-day microgravity study 18 thousand dollars to lounge around, play video games, and Tweet all day.

Movers and shakers can work remotely if that’s an option for them.

They’re not as much concerned with how you spend your time, just that you spend an extended chunk of it lying in a slightly tilted head down bed.

According to the space agency, the position best simulates how low gravity affects the body.

To date, microgravity has been one of the most difficult space conditions to recreate in testing environments, so those involved will really be doing a solid for NASA.

From time to time the researchers will ask the loungers to put down their remotes so things like circulatory and immune systems can be assessed.

The participant pool isn’t limited to couch potatoes. Fitness enthusiasts are also welcome to apply and if selected will be provided with specialized equipment.

Before being sent back into the world, all test subjects will go through a 14-day recovery period.
