Artist Biography: My Favourite Runner Up are a four piece pop punk band formed in February 2006 who have become known for their fast paced, energetic live shows all over the UK.
In 2010, MFRU released a 5 track EP that was recorded with with Romesh Dodangoda at LongWave Studios. Singles and EP have received airplay on numerous radio stations including BBC Radio 1 and being featured by Alex Baker along with an interview on Kerrang! Radio and they have played numerous Kerrang Radio shows.
MFRU have toured with 'I Spy Strangers' and 'Kids Can't Fly' and toured Europe in 2012 with Second Function and UK with Reachback.
Their last EP 'Thoughts, Feelings, Actions' (2012) was released to great reviews.
"And despite having already caused quite a stir in the run up to their EP, it's out on the road that these ambitious youngsters truly prove their mettle as a fearsome live force to be reckoned with. With their fast-rising popularity drawing the band even further afield, you'd be well advised to catch 'em while you can." Big Cheese Magazine
"Largely impressive and wholly inoffensive stuff marking MFRU out as ones to watch" Rocksound Magazine
About The Video: After the self-release of My Favourite Runner Up's acoustic EP 'Beautiful Dream', which became a free download on the band's Facebook page, the fans have been craving more acoustic material from the otherwise hard hitting rock band.
With the upcoming release of their first full length album 'Crossroads' this October, the band felt that there was a space for a stripped down track on the record. Diving into an emotional relationship breakdown close to every band member's heart, 'Better Without You' became that song.
My Favourite Runner Up shot and edited the video themselves, using the beautiful landscape around their home town in Aberystwyth - Wales for the performance shots and calling upon friends, family and fans to star in the video revealing their own thoughts on the most confusing feeling in the world -- Love.
This video also plays host to a number of guest appearances, including those from; Joe James and Jono Yates of Blitz Kids, Mikey Chapman of Mallory Knox, Tom McHenry of Reachback, Ben Barlow of Neck Deep and finally Katy Jackson of The Hype Theory.
'Better Without You' is a tiny taster of what's to come from the new album, and with the first single 'Poison' promising to be a belter, 'Crossroads' will definitely be a brilliant, must-have album.

Song Lyrics: Is a little bit of honesty too much to ask for
After all we said the day we got together?
How could I be so stupid to let you in?
Loving you is killing me.
You put me through the worst time
And I'm supposed to be fine
With the thoughts of you all over him.
I hope you're going to miss me
'Cause the thoughts of you will haunt me
Every night, from now until the end.
Where do we go from here my friend?
I'm not ready to say goodbye,
But if you hurt me again like this
I'm not sure how I'd survive.
So how can we ever get through this?
It's easy for you to say "It's okay".
I feel it in my chest.
I think I'd be better off without you.
Every memory is damaged.
I no longer believe a word you say.
That's because you had it your way.
You've only got yourself to blame.
You let yourself down.
Becoming everything that I hate.
Loving you is killing me.
The lies you told, now they haunt me.
You know I hate missing you
And I can't ever forgive you.
Girl you ripped out my heart and I know you know that's true.
Well baby you killed the spark the moment you let him touch you.
I'm better without you.
