Talks over detained N Korean crew

Panama's been holding the 35 crew of this North Korean ship for alleged weapons smuggling since July.

Now North Korean diplomats have arrived to negotiate their release.

Military equipment including MiG jets and engines and anti-aircraft missiles were found among the cargo of sugar.

Cuba said later it was sending 240 tons of "obsolete" Soviet-era weapons to be repaired in North Korea and returned.

A United Nations Security Council preliminary report says the shipment breached its arms embargo on North Korea.

The North Korean diplomats whose visit ends on Thursday are seeking the return of the ship and its cargo.
