Jolie asks for help for Syrian child refugees

Special envoy for the U.N. Refugee Agency, Angelina Jolie, released a statement via the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Friday (August 23), imploring the world to address the conditions of child refugees from Syria.
The actress and U.N. ambassador said that one million Syrian children are left without food, shelter and protection and that they were "innocent victims of a senseless conflict."
She said that thousands of children have lost their lives, and included the recent attacks near Damascus.
On Wednesday (August 21), rockets launched deadly fumes over rebel-held Damascus suburbs, killing men, women and children as they slept.
It is yet to be determined who the responsible party was for the mysterious pre-dawn killer fumes, with the death toll estimated at between 500 and 1,300 in what would be the world's most lethal chemical weapons attack since the 1980s.
