Protest against 'Madras Cafe'
Opposing screening of John Abraham's upcoming film 'Madras Cafe' for allegedly portraying the outlawed LTTE in bad light, some Tamil organisations and the BJP are protesting against the release of the film. The film is set in the late 80s and early 1990s, during the time of Sri Lankan civil war and the assassination of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Pro-Tamil groups feel that the film has portrayed Tamilians as terrorists and late LTTE leader Prabhakaran in bad light. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the political espionage thriller, also starring Nargis Fakhri, is slated to release on August 23.
