An interview of Georgios Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece, recorded during the International Conference "An innovative society for the XXI century" held at Paris on July 12 & 13.
Georgios Papandreou says that we have to think a new growth or a new economic development model. He believes investments - to become competitive & to stimulate our economy - together with infrastructure are key elements to implement a new model.
As he says "the question is not where we can find the money but where we put the money". That is why it is a political problem: how we manage our economy, financial systems; how we create a State that reply to the needs of the citizen and which support and liberate the capacity of these citizen. He underlines that we have to democratize Europe if we want to give a strong legitimacy to the UE institution, and the importance of "working together" to deal global problems. He concludes on his vision of the UE project.
