Madrid, Jul 15 (EFE), (Camera: Martín Carrasco).- Atletico de Madrid's new striker, David Villa, spoke at a press conference on Monday, during his presentation, and claimed that the club had given him the "care he needed" adding that the fan's displays of enthusiasm on social media networks had made him see how important he was for them, ultimately helping him choose to sign for Atletico.
Villa assured the press that even though 2014 is a World Cup year, he did not leave Barça in order to play more minutes, thus giving him a better chance of being chosen for the Spanish squad, but rather because he loves the sport and was not playing as much as he wanted in the Catalan club. He also revealed that he had been thinking of joining clubs in England but changed his mind as soon as Atletico made their offer.
