Drum parade for murdered UK soldier Lee Rigby

STORY: The body of a soldier butchered in south-east London was escorted on Thursday by members of his regiment to a church where his funeral will take place on Friday.

Fusilier Lee Rigby was murdered in broad daylight on the street as he walked near his Woolwich Barracks on May 22.

Drummers escorted Rigby's cortege to Bury Parish Church, where it was met by a guard of honor of 40 soldiers from his regiment.

A private funeral service is to be held at the church on Friday for the 25-year-old. The proceedings will be relayed to members of the public wishing to pay their respects on a PA system.

Two men, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, have been charged with Rigby's murder. Adebolajo is also accused of attempting to murder two police officers at the scene and of being in possession of a firearm.
