Born in 1978 in Hiroshima, Horitaro Yuki, starts tattooing at age 17. In 1997 in Kawasaki, he's struck by Japanese traditional tattooing and discovers it's sophistication as disciple of prestigious Hori-Hito. For the next five years under his master's teaching, he improves upon this ancestral art, before taking his independence under the patronage of Hiro-Hito. He founds his own tattoo studio in his hometown, Hiroshima. As the tradition has it, his master Hiro-Hito gives Horitaro his artist name : Hori-Taro. Today, while not neglecting modernity, he performs "tebori"(手彫り, literally "hand carving"), a rare Japanese technique using the force of the wrist only. Depending on the size and the complexity of the design, the completion of the tattoo can take several years work. Driven by constantly improving his skills, Hori-Taro puts all his energies to reach new levels, while respecting the tradition and the codes of this old mythical Art: "Irezumi" (Japanese tattoo).

En 1997, à Kawasaki, il succombe au charme du tatouage traditionnel japonais et découvre toute sa sophistication en devenant l'élève du prestigieux Hori-Hito. Pendant 5 années, suivant la technique et l'enseignements de son maître, il apprend et perfectionne cet art ancestral, avant de prendre son indépendance en fondant son propre studio dans sa région d'origine à Hiroshima, encouragé par Hori-Hito, dont il récupérera le nom en tant que disciple et conformément à la tradition. Aujourd'hui, sans renier la modernité actuelle, il pratique toujours le « tebori » (手彫り, littéralement graver à la main), une technique traditionnelle japonaise très rare, qui consiste à n'utiliser que la main et la force du poignet pour tatouer. Horitaro fait évoluer son art chaque jour, tout en respectant la tradition et les codes d'un art séculaire mythique : l'Irezumi (tatouage japonais).
