C’est le travail de la pathologiste, qui examine sous microscope un échantillon coloré du greffon. De son verdict dépend la transplantation. Mais c’est une technique d’analyse imparfaite. C’est pourquoi chercheurs et cliniciens ont réfléchi au moyen de rendre cette analyse de greffons plus fiable, et ont eu l'idée de se tourner vers SOLEIL.
